In 2010 the Opal Clarisonic won the Best of Beauty Award from Allure Magazine in their Breakthrough category. The Opal has certainly been a great success for Clarisonic with their sonic technology and infusion system producing real results around the world for both men and women. Since friends of ours started using and talking about the system we thought it certainly worth a look and impressed we were with what we came up with.
Having read through many reviews online and spoken with friends who have used the Opal, the Clarisonic infusion system has produced results showing a clearer, smoother and more radiant skin. People who have used it have, almost without exception, recommended the product to others and have seen the results that Clarisonic promise.
So how does the Opal device work? Well the small Opal unit, which fits into the palm of your hand, works using Clarisonic’s patented sonic technology. They call the Opal a skin infusion system and it works by sending sonic pulses from the unit to your skin while injecting a special serum, which does come with the product. In particular the Opal is designed to work around the sensitive skin areas of the face, for example around the eye, and replicates the traditional light finger tapping many use in applying creams around the eye. Of course this is not a consistent nor even process and can also introduce contaminants from your hands, or the pot of cream, onto the skin that partly defeats the cleaning you have done already.
The Opal takes the application process a step ahead with a system that is easy to apply, clean and produces a much more even and consistent application of product to the face when compared to using your hands. Just like their Sonic Skin Cleaning System, that provides a deeper and more consistent cleaning of the face compared to washing by hand, the Opal enables more efficient use of product and time.
So why does a better application matter? Well, other than you getting the most from some pretty expensive products being applied to your face the Opal results in the serum being absorbed into your skin at a faster and more even rate that leads to better hydration and moisturising of the skin. This in turns means your skin should look much smoother and help to protect it from the normal day-to-day environments and pollutants that most of us subject it to.
The anti-aging serum applied through the Opal does come as part of the Opal package and has been designed specifically for Clarisonic and the use in their infusion system. The serum should be applied to each eye for approximately 30 seconds and done on a daily, or twice daily, basis.
So what is in the anti-again serum? Well the following ingredients are listed in the packaging:
Water (Aqua), Epilobium Angustifolium Leaf/Stem Extract, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Glycosaminoglycans, PEG-8 Dimethicone, Kigelia Africana Fruit Extract, Silanetriol Trehalose Ether, Saccharomyces Ferment, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Hydrolyzed Casein, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Algae Extract, Pullulan, Skeletonema Costatum Extract, Acetyl Citrull Amido Arginine, Arginine PCA, Plankton Extract, Soluble Collagen, Chrondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Chrondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Niacinamide, Ascorbic Acid, Bisabolol, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Sodium PCA, Urea, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyquaternium-51, Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate HCL, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Disodium EDTA and Sodium Hydroxide.
The Opal is a product we can recommend. However, like all of the Clarisonic products the Opal is not cheap and so an informed decision has to be made before rushing out to buy one. Please do have a read through the many reviews that are available on the product and make sure you have all the facts before making your final decision.
